What is different for a UK client

A market page is only worth existing if it carries something the general pages cannot. For United Kingdom that is currency, tax treatment, the lawful basis for moving personal data, the accessibility floor, and the hours we actually overlap. All five are below.

Why hire outside your own market

A UK developer at a typical day rate costs more for a small business site than most small businesses have budgeted, which is why so many end up on a website builder they cannot extend.

Hiring direct and offshore removes the agency layer rather than the craft. What you give up is convenience and easy legal recourse — and both are manageable with paperwork that already exists on this site rather than being negotiated after something goes wrong.

Why UK work is the bulk of what I do

Nine of the fifteen sites I have shipped are for UK businesses, across four trades: e-commerce retail, removals and man-and-van, CCTV and security installation, and landlord compliance certification. That concentration is not an accident of who found me — it is where the pattern repeats, so each build starts further along than the last.

The practical effect is that I already know what a UK removals quote form has to ask, why an EICR booking flow needs postcode coverage checking before it asks for a date, and which of those questions kill a conversion when they are asked in the wrong order. A developer meeting that trade for the first time learns it on your budget.

The compliance answer most offshore suppliers cannot give

Sending customer data to a supplier in Pakistan is a restricted transfer under the UK GDPR, because Pakistan has no adequacy decision from the UK government. That is a genuine procurement blocker, and it is the point at which most offshore quotes quietly stop being answered.

The mechanism that resolves it is a Data Processing Agreement with a completed International Data Transfer Addendum, plus a documented transfer risk assessment. Where the UK client proof is concentrated

Two of the nine UK builds are on .london domains — removal-services.london and 24hrs.london — both live and both openable from the work section. The rest are spread across .co.uk domains in removals, CCTV and landlord compliance, without a geographic concentration worth claiming.

London is the only UK city with enough behind it to justify a page of its own, and it has one. Every other city on this site is deliberately absent: a page named after a place I have never worked in is a doorway page whatever the search volume says, and the linked page below states plainly that I am not based in London either.

Data protection and the lawful basis

This is the section most offshore quotes cannot fill in, and it is the point at which procurement usually stops replying. Everything referenced here is published rather than promised — your legal team can read it before you book a call.

Contracting and ownership

• Scope agreed in writing before any payment, so both sides know what "finished" means
• You own the domain, hosting, code and payment accounts throughout — this is stated in the quote rather than assumed
• Intellectual property in the delivered work assigns to you on final payment
• Non-disclosure signed on request, yours rather than mine
• Disputes: realistically, cross-border enforcement is impractical for a project this size in either direction. The protection that actually works is staged payment against visible progress, which is why the terms are structured that way

Payment and banking

Working hours and how the overlap is used

• My working day is 09:00–18:00 PKT, which is 05:00–14:00 UK time
• That covers your entire morning and the start of your afternoon — the part of the day when decisions actually get made
• Calls held to 21:00 PKT when a project needs them, which is 17:00 UK
• Anything sent after 14:00 UK is answered the following morning UK time, which is my morning
• On a three-day build this matters more than anything else: a decision that waits a day is a third of the project

Domain, language and local search

• A generic domain (.com/.dev/.co) is the right choice even for a UK-only business — a .co.uk hard-codes geo-targeting you may later want to widen
• Google Business Profile matters enormously for trades and not at all for a business selling nationally online
• UK spelling throughout: "optimise", "organisation", "colour". Google does not care; British readers notice immediately
• Prices displayed in GBP with VAT position stated, because a UK buyer will ask
• Local pack visibility is decided mostly by profile completeness, proximity and reviews — not by anything on the website

Accessibility obligations

• The Equality Act 2010 requires reasonable adjustments for disabled users, and it applies to websites as service provision
• Public sector bodies have stricter, explicitly stated obligations under separate 2018 regulations
• Private businesses have no formal audit regime, which is exactly why most sites fail — and why it is a genuine differentiator
• Every build here targets WCAG 2.2 AA and is tested with a keyboard and a screen reader, at no extra cost, because retrofitting is far more expensive

This site is built to the standard it sells, and the accessibility statement lists what is conformant and what is not — which is the part most statements leave out.
