The problem
Landlords comparing compliance providers spend a few minutes and book whoever makes it easiest. Price depends on certificate type, property size and postcode, so a flat "contact us" form loses the job to whichever competitor shows a number.
Same-day and next-day availability is the real differentiator in this market, and most provider sites bury it below the fold.
Demand is deadline-driven and seasonal, which means the site has to rank before the renewal rush rather than during it.
What I built
A certificate-type selector with transparent per-type pricing, so a landlord sees a real number without submitting anything.
Postcode-based coverage and availability checking, with same-day slots surfaced prominently rather than hidden.
Online booking with date and time-slot selection, and automated confirmation email on completion.
Separate landing pages per certificate type — EICR, gas safety, EPC — because a landlord searching for one specific certificate should land on that certificate, not on a general services page.
Decisions worth explaining
Prices are published. In a market where every competitor says "contact for a quote", publishing the number is the differentiator — it removes the only real friction in a transaction the customer wants to complete quickly.
Each certificate type earns its own URL and its own page. One page targeting all three would rank for none of them, because the searches are genuinely different intents from genuinely different people.
