Not sure which one you need?
Most projects are one of four shapes. If you need a site that brings in enquiries, that is
business website development. If you
sell products online you want
e-commerce development. If you have a site
that exists but nobody finds it, that is
technical SEO. If your business runs on a process
no off-the-shelf product fits — bookings, quotes, portals — that is
a web application.
If none of those describe it, send the brief anyway. I will tell you which one it is,
or tell you honestly that it is not something I should take on.
One developer instead of a website development company
All twelve web development services above are delivered by one person. The realistic choice
for most buyers is between a website development agency, a cheap freelancer, and something
in between. An agency gives you a team, a project manager and
someone to escalate to, and the price carries all three. A cheap freelance website
developer gives you a low number and frequently no written scope, no staging URL and no
handover — which is what makes the second developer more expensive than the first
would have been.
What is on offer here is the middle: one person accountable end to end, working to the
documentation standard export clients insist on. There is no account manager, which means
you talk to the person building it. There is also no team, which means I say no to work I
cannot do well — Shopify builds, native mobile apps and large multi-author content
platforms all go elsewhere, and I will tell you where.
Searching for professional website development near you
Proximity matters less than it used to and more than developers like to admit. It matters
when you genuinely need someone in the room — and if you are in Islamabad or Rawalpindi,
that is available and there is no travel fee inside the twin cities.
It matters far less for a build that is specified in writing, developed on a staging URL you
can open from your phone, and handed over with documentation.
Where the distance genuinely costs you is time zones and legal recourse, so both are dealt
with explicitly rather than glossed over: working hours per market are published on the
UK, Canada and Ireland
pages, and the contract, data-transfer mechanism and escalation route are documented in
vendor information. Those are the questions worth asking
any overseas supplier, and the answers should not require a phone call to obtain.
What website development costs here
Starting prices run from $40 for a landing page to $200 for a custom application or web
application build, with a business website at $80 and an e-commerce store at $150. Those
are genuine floors rather than teasers: the confirmed number is agreed in writing after
scope and does not move afterwards unless you change the scope.
