The problem
Same-day compliance is a distinct market from standard compliance work. The customer is not comparing prices carefully — they have a letting agent, a tenant or a deadline applying pressure, and they need certainty within minutes.
That means availability has to be visible immediately and credibly. A site that promises "fast turnaround" without showing an actual slot is asking a stressed customer to take a risk, and they will take it with someone else.
What I built
Availability surfaced above the fold rather than buried in a services page, with the same-day proposition stated in the first thing a visitor reads.
A booking path short enough to complete on a phone in a hurry: certificate type, postcode, slot, contact details, confirmation.
Separate landing pages per certificate type, because a landlord searching for a specific certificate should arrive at that certificate rather than at a general list of services.
Built on WordPress so the office can add coverage areas and adjust copy during busy periods without waiting for a developer.
Decisions worth explaining
WordPress was chosen for a specific reason rather than by default: this client publishes and edits. Where nobody will ever touch the site, a static build is faster and cheaper to run, and I say so.
Plugin count was kept deliberately low. Every plugin is an update that can break the booking form, and a booking form that breaks silently in a same-day business is worse than no website at all.
