The problem
Customers will not speak to a removals company before they have a rough price. A site whose only conversion path is a phone number loses everyone unwilling to make that call — which, for a home move, is most people.
The quote itself depends on several variables: distance between postcodes, property size, floor level, and whether packing is included. A single "get in touch" box cannot capture any of it.
The market is also seasonal. Summer is the peak, which means the site has to be ranking by spring, not in July.
What I built
A multi-step quote form capturing origin and destination postcodes, move date, property size and extras — broken into steps because a single long form on a phone is abandoned.
A van-size guide using real capacity examples rather than vague small/medium/large tiers, so customers self-select accurately and the company stops arriving with the wrong vehicle.
An instant email quote to the customer alongside a lead alert to the company, so nobody waits.
Service-area pages for the parts of London genuinely covered, and click-to-call optimised for mobile, where most of this traffic sits.
Decisions worth explaining
The form gives a real number rather than "we will be in touch". An approximate price stated honestly converts better than a precise price withheld.
Service areas are limited to genuine coverage. Generating a page for every London borough regardless of whether the company works there is a doorway pattern, and it is a penalty risk rather than a growth lever.
