What is Answer Engine Optimisation?
Answer Engine Optimisation is structuring content so a machine can lift a complete, correct answer out of it without needing the rest of the page. The core technique is answer-first: a question-shaped heading, then a self-contained answer, then the depth.

The pattern
- A heading phrased as the question someone would actually ask
- Immediately below it, a direct answer in one to three sentences that stands alone
- Then the qualification, evidence and nuance for the reader who stayed
Self-containment is the discipline
Extraction removes a passage from its neighbours. Anything depending on the paragraph above breaks when lifted — so no "as mentioned above", no pronouns pointing backwards, and units and currency inside the sentence rather than in a caption three paragraphs up.
Specificity beats fluency
"Fast turnaround" is unquotable. "Seven days from signed scope for a standard catalogue store" is a fact with a shape — it can be cited, compared and verified, which is exactly why it gets used.
