E-commerce website development in Sudbury

I build online stores end to end — catalogue, cart, Stripe checkout, order emails and the technical SEO that gets them found. Six of the fifteen sites I have shipped are e-commerce builds, and every one of them takes real payments. For Sudbury businesses, quoted in CAD from $150, typically live in 7 days.

What e-commerce website development includes for a Sudbury business

Fixed scope, agreed in writing before development starts. From $150, typically live in 7 days.

The terms for a Canadian client

Starting price From $150, quoted and invoiced in CAD
Typical timeline 7 days once content is supplied
Tax position GST/HST at 5–15% depending on province — my invoices are zero-rated exports and carry no Canadian tax
Data protection PIPEDA federally, with Quebec Law 25 layered on top if you have Quebec customers — resolved by a written DPA naming Pakistan as the processing location, which PIPEDA requires you to disclose to your own customers
Payment rails available Stripe, Interac e-Transfer for deposits, and Moneris where an existing merchant account has to stay
My day in Sudbury time 00:00–09:00 — a shifted window is agreed in writing instead

Why this matters for Canada specifically

Quebec Law 25 caught a lot of Canadian sites out: consent has to be explicit and granular, and the default cookie banner most agencies drop in does not meet it. I build the consent layer properly rather than bolting on a plugin.

What happens in the first 48 hours of a Sudbury build

Nothing is designed on day one. The first two days are spent on the things that decide whether the build succeeds: what the site is for, which single action matters most, who the visitor actually is, and what content genuinely exists versus what is assumed to exist. That last one is where most timelines quietly break.

By the end of it you have a written scope, a sitemap, a price in CAD and a date. If any of those four look wrong to you, that is the cheapest possible moment to say so — before a line of code exists. Projects that go badly almost always skipped this and started with a homepage mockup instead.

Hospitality and venues in Sudbury

Restaurants, cafés, hotels and venues are judged on four things a visitor looks for immediately: today's opening hours, the menu or rate as a readable page, real photographs of the actual room, and how to book. Everything else on a hospitality site is decoration arranged around those four.

The PDF menu deserves its own warning. It is invisible to search engines, unreadable on a phone without pinch-zoom, and it is the most common reason a Sudbury venue never appears for searches naming the dishes it serves. Menus belong in HTML.

A mobile layout nobody tested on a real phone

Desktop-first builds fail in predictable places: a navigation menu that cannot be closed, a table forcing the whole page sideways, tap targets too close together, and a sticky banner sitting over the button. Each one is invisible on a laptop and each one loses customers.

Most visitors to a Sudbury small business site arrive on a phone, so I design at phone width first and widen from there. That ordering is not a stylistic preference — it is the only way the small screen gets the attention the majority of your traffic deserves.

What I am not claiming about Sudbury

E-commerce website development in Sudbury — common questions

How much does a website cost in Sudbury?
A business website starts from C$110 and goes live in about three days. An e-commerce build starts from C$210 in around seven days, and a custom application from C$270 in ten. Those are starting figures — the exact number is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, and it does not move after that.
Do you actually work with businesses in Sudbury?
Yes, remotely. I work with Canadian clients from Islamabad, quoting in CAD and invoicing in CAD. I have no office, address or phone number in Sudbury and will not pretend otherwise. If your project needs someone physically present, hire locally — I will say so in the first reply rather than after a deposit.
Do I need to provide the content and images?
Content, yes — you know your business and I do not. I will restructure and edit what you send so it reads for the web, and I will tell you where a section is missing. Photography is worth paying a local photographer for; stock images of people in offices are recognisable as stock and quietly cost you credibility.
Can you migrate my Sudbury site without losing rankings?
Yes, and the redirect map is the whole job. Every existing URL is mapped to its new equivalent with a 301 before launch, and anything with no equivalent goes to the closest relevant page rather than the homepage. Sites lose rankings in migration because that mapping was skipped, not because migration is inherently risky.
What payment methods can my Sudbury checkout accept?
For Canada: Stripe, Interac e-Transfer for deposits, and Moneris where an existing merchant account has to stay. The right combination depends on your average basket and your customers, and picking wrong is expensive — the payment method a buyer expects but cannot find is one of the most common reasons a checkout is abandoned at the final step.
How do you handle our customers' data under PIPEDA federally?
Your customer data is governed by PIPEDA federally, with Quebec Law 25 layered on top if you have Quebec customers, and sending it to a developer in Pakistan is a restricted transfer. That is resolved by a written DPA naming Pakistan as the processing location, which PIPEDA requires you to disclose to your own customers, published on this site and pre-signed before you send an enquiry — not drafted after you ask about it.
Who owns the website when it is finished?
You do, completely. The domain is registered in your name, hosting sits in your account, the code lives in a repository you control, and any payment provider account is opened in your business name. Credentials are handed to you as they are created rather than at the end, so you are never locked out of your own site.
