Custom website development in Frankfurt
A template is the right answer more often than developers like to admit. This page is about the times it is not — when the thing your business does has a shape no theme author anticipated, and forcing it into one costs more in permanent workarounds than building it properly would have cost once. For Frankfurt businesses, quoted in EUR from $200, typically live in 10 days.
What custom website development includes for a Frankfurt business
Fixed scope, agreed in writing before development starts. From $200, typically live in 10 days.
- A written specification agreed before any code, including what is explicitly out of scope
- Custom data model designed around your business logic rather than a theme author’s assumptions
- Hand-written PHP 8 and MySQL — no page builder, no multi-purpose theme, no plugin stack to maintain
- Front end in Tailwind CSS with Alpine.js only where interaction genuinely needs it
- Admin interface a non-technical person can operate without a training course
- Technical SEO built in during the build rather than retrofitted afterwards
- Source code in a repository you own, with deployment and rollback documented
- 30 days of snag fixes after go-live
The terms for a German client
| Starting price | From $200, quoted and invoiced in EUR |
|---|---|
| Typical timeline | 10 days once content is supplied |
| Tax position | VAT at 19%, reverse-charged on imported services |
| Data protection | the EU GDPR and the BDSG, enforced by notably active state authorities — resolved by a DPA with EU Standard Contractual Clauses and a documented transfer impact assessment |
| Payment rails available | Stripe, SEPA Direct Debit, Klarna, giropay, and PayPal — which carries unusually high share here |
| My day in Frankfurt time | 06:00–15:00 — about 6 hours of overlap |
Why this matters for Germany specifically
German law requires a compliant Impressum and Widerrufsbelehrung, and getting them wrong invites an Abmahnung — a formal cease-and-desist with costs attached. On German builds these are structural requirements, not footer decoration.
What happens in the first 48 hours of a Frankfurt build
Nothing is designed on day one. The first two days are spent on the things that decide whether the build succeeds: what the site is for, which single action matters most, who the visitor actually is, and what content genuinely exists versus what is assumed to exist. That last one is where most timelines quietly break.
By the end of it you have a written scope, a sitemap, a price in EUR and a date. If any of those four look wrong to you, that is the cheapest possible moment to say so — before a line of code exists. Projects that go badly almost always skipped this and started with a homepage mockup instead.
Hospitality and venues in Frankfurt
Restaurants, cafés, hotels and venues are judged on four things a visitor looks for immediately: today's opening hours, the menu or rate as a readable page, real photographs of the actual room, and how to book. Everything else on a hospitality site is decoration arranged around those four.
The PDF menu deserves its own warning. It is invisible to search engines, unreadable on a phone without pinch-zoom, and it is the most common reason a Frankfurt venue never appears for searches naming the dishes it serves. Menus belong in HTML.
A redesign that quietly deleted the rankings
The classic disaster: a new site launches, looks far better, and organic enquiries fall off a cliff within a fortnight. The cause is almost always identical — the URLs changed and nothing was redirected, so every page that had accumulated years of authority now returns a 404.
Preventing it is a redirect map built before launch: every old URL to its closest new equivalent with a 301, and anything without an equivalent pointed at the nearest relevant page rather than the homepage. If your Frankfurt site is being redesigned by anyone, ask to see that map. If it does not exist, that is the entire risk in one document.
What I am not claiming about Frankfurt
- I have no office, postal address or phone number in Frankfurt
- I cannot meet you in person, and if that is a requirement you should hire locally
- I am not claiming existing clients in Frankfurt specifically — my live work is listed on the work page and you can check it
- Nothing on this page is a guarantee of search rankings, which no developer can honestly offer
Custom website development in Frankfurt — common questions
- How much does a website cost in Frankfurt?
- A business website starts from €75 and goes live in about three days. An e-commerce build starts from €140 in around seven days, and a custom application from €180 in ten. Those are starting figures — the exact number is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, and it does not move after that.
- Do you actually work with businesses in Frankfurt?
- Yes, remotely. I work with German clients from Islamabad, quoting in EUR and invoicing in EUR. I have no office, address or phone number in Frankfurt and will not pretend otherwise. If your project needs someone physically present, hire locally — I will say so in the first reply rather than after a deposit.
- Do I need to provide the content and images?
- Content, yes — you know your business and I do not. I will restructure and edit what you send so it reads for the web, and I will tell you where a section is missing. Photography is worth paying a local photographer for; stock images of people in offices are recognisable as stock and quietly cost you credibility.
- Can you migrate my Frankfurt site without losing rankings?
- Yes, and the redirect map is the whole job. Every existing URL is mapped to its new equivalent with a 301 before launch, and anything with no equivalent goes to the closest relevant page rather than the homepage. Sites lose rankings in migration because that mapping was skipped, not because migration is inherently risky.
- Do you build on WordPress or something custom?
- Whichever the project justifies. WordPress when you need to edit content constantly and want a familiar admin. A static build when speed and security matter more than a plugin ecosystem. Custom PHP and MySQL when the logic is genuinely yours. The choice is explained in the quote with its trade-offs, not presented as a foregone conclusion.
- What happens if I am not happy with the result?
- Work is delivered in milestones against a written scope, and you review each one on a staging URL before it is paid for. If the delivered milestone does not match the scope, it gets corrected before anything moves forward. That structure exists so disagreement is resolved at the stage it happens rather than at the end when it is expensive.
- Will the site actually rank in Frankfurt search results?
- The build handles what is technically controllable: crawlable HTML, correct headings, structured data, fast pages, a clean sitemap and Search Console set up on day one. Ranking also depends on your competitors, your domain's age and the links pointing at you, which no developer controls. Anyone guaranteeing a position is guessing or lying.
