Business website development in Halifax
Most small business websites fail at one job: turning a stranger who searched for your service into a phone call. I build the version that does — three days, mobile-first, live on your own hosting, with the enquiry form tested before anybody sees it. For Halifax, Nova Scotia businesses, quoted in CAD from $80, typically live in 3 days.

The terms for a Canadian client
| Starting price | From $80, quoted and invoiced in CAD |
|---|---|
| Typical timeline | 3 days once content is supplied |
| Tax position | GST/HST at 5–15% depending on province — my invoices are zero-rated exports and carry no Canadian tax |
| Data protection | PIPEDA federally, with Quebec Law 25 layered on top if you have Quebec customers — resolved by a written DPA naming Pakistan as the processing location, which PIPEDA requires you to disclose to your own customers |
| Payment rails available | Stripe, Interac e-Transfer for deposits, and Moneris where an existing merchant account has to stay |
| My day in Halifax time | 00:00–09:00 — a shifted window is agreed in writing instead |
Why this matters for Canada specifically
Quebec Law 25 caught a lot of Canadian sites out: consent has to be explicit and granular, and the default cookie banner most agencies drop in does not meet it. I build the consent layer properly rather than bolting on a plugin.
Why the Halifax quote lists exclusions as well as inclusions
Every quote I send names what is not included as explicitly as what is. Copywriting from scratch, photography, logo design, ongoing content, paid advertising and third-party licence fees are the usual ones. A quote listing only inclusions is not cheaper — it is the same price with the arguments deferred to later.
This is unpopular at the proposal stage and it is the reason fixed prices hold. Someone comparing three quotes for a Halifax project is usually comparing three different scopes without realising it, and the cheapest one is very often the one that excluded the most while saying the least.
Property, lettings and estate agencies in Halifax
Property sites live or die on search and filtering. A listing grid that cannot be filtered by the three things buyers actually care about — price, bedrooms, area — sends people to the portals, and once they are on a portal you are competing on fee with every other agency in Halifax.
The technical half is feed handling: listings usually arrive from a CRM in a format designed two decades ago, and keeping the site, the portals and the window cards in agreement is where the real work sits. It is worth doing properly, because a property still showing as available after it is let generates the angriest phone calls in the business.
Analytics that has never once been looked at
Most sites carry a tracking tag and no measurement. Nobody defined what counts as a conversion, so the dashboard reports sessions and bounce rate — numbers that move up and down and change no decision anybody makes.
Useful measurement is narrow: form submissions, phone taps, WhatsApp clicks, and which pages preceded them. Four numbers checked monthly beat forty never opened, and knowing which Halifax search terms actually produce enquiries is what turns the site from a cost into something you can steer.
What I am not claiming about Halifax
- I have no office, postal address or phone number in Halifax
- I cannot meet you in person, and if that is a requirement you should hire locally
- I am not claiming existing clients in Halifax specifically — my live work is listed on the work page and you can check it
- Nothing on this page is a guarantee of search rankings, which no developer can honestly offer
Business website development in Halifax — common questions
- What currency will I be invoiced in?
- CAD. Quotes, milestones and the final invoice are all written in CAD so you are never comparing a converted figure against a local supplier's. Regarding tax: GST/HST at 5–15% depending on province — my invoices are zero-rated exports and carry no Canadian tax.
- Who owns the website when it is finished?
- You do, completely. The domain is registered in your name, hosting sits in your account, the code lives in a repository you control, and any payment provider account is opened in your business name. Credentials are handed to you as they are created rather than at the end, so you are never locked out of your own site.
- Do you actually work with businesses in Halifax?
- Yes, remotely. I work with Canadian clients from Islamabad, quoting in CAD and invoicing in CAD. I have no office, address or phone number in Halifax and will not pretend otherwise. If your project needs someone physically present, hire locally — I will say so in the first reply rather than after a deposit.
- How much does a website cost in Halifax?
- A business website starts from C$110 and goes live in about three days. An e-commerce build starts from C$210 in around seven days, and a custom application from C$270 in ten. Those are starting figures — the exact number is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, and it does not move after that.
- How long does a Halifax project actually take?
- Three days for a business site, seven for a store, ten for a custom application. That holds because the process is fixed rather than improvised and because your content exists on day one. What stretches a build is almost never the code — it is waiting for copy, logos and photographs, so those are requested before the clock starts.
- What hours will you be available to us in Halifax?
- Honestly: very little, by default. My standard day lands at 00:00–09:00 your time, which barely touches a Halifax working day. So Canada projects run on a deliberately shifted schedule — I commit in writing to a fixed daily window that falls inside your morning, plus asynchronous written updates you can read before you start. If a supplier in your own timezone is what you need, that is a legitimate reason to hire locally.
- How do you handle our customers' data under PIPEDA federally?
- Your customer data is governed by PIPEDA federally, with Quebec Law 25 layered on top if you have Quebec customers, and sending it to a developer in Pakistan is a restricted transfer. That is resolved by a written DPA naming Pakistan as the processing location, which PIPEDA requires you to disclose to your own customers, published on this site and pre-signed before you send an enquiry — not drafted after you ask about it.
