Web developer in Uyo
Websites, online stores and technical SEO for Uyo businesses — built remotely from Islamabad, quoted in NGN, scoped in writing before anything starts.
The competitive question in Uyo is rarely design. It is whether a visitor can work out, within about eight seconds, what you sell, what it costs, and what happens next. Sites that answer all three convert; sites that answer none of them collect traffic and no enquiries. Everything below is built around answering those three.
What working with a Nigerian client actually changes
These are the terms that differ by country rather than by town. They apply to every business in Nigeria, Uyo included, and they are the substance of what this page is claiming.
| Quoted and invoiced in | NGN — never a converted figure presented at the end |
|---|---|
| Tax position | VAT at 7.5% |
| Your customers' data sits under | the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 |
| Lawful transfer mechanism | a DPA meeting the NDPC adequacy or safeguards route |
| Checkout can realistically use | Paystack, Flutterwave, and Interswitch — Stripe does not serve Nigerian entities directly |
| My day, in Uyo time | 05:00–14:00 — about 5 hours inside a normal working day |
One thing worth knowing about building for Nigeria
Paystack and Flutterwave replace Stripe entirely here, and their webhook and refund behaviour differs enough that a store ported from a Stripe build will fail in specific, predictable places. I port those properly rather than stubbing them.
How a Uyo build is scoped before anything is written
Scope is fixed in writing before development starts, and the number in that document is the number on the invoice. For Uyo projects that document lists every page, every form, every integration and every third-party account the site will touch — priced in NGN, not converted at the end from something else.
The reason this matters more than it sounds: almost every dispute in web development is a scope dispute wearing a different hat. "Can you just add" is how a three-day build becomes a three-week one. Fixing scope up front does not stop you changing your mind; it makes the cost of changing your mind visible before you commit to it, which is the only honest way to run a fixed price.
Professional services in Uyo
Accountants, solicitors, consultants and agencies sell judgement, which cannot be photographed. What converts instead is specificity: the sectors you actually work in, the size of client you actually serve, and named people with real biographies. A professional services site full of stock imagery and the word "bespoke" is indistinguishable from every competitor in Uyo.
Practically, the site's job is qualification rather than lead volume. Publishing your minimum engagement size loses you enquiries and saves you hours, and almost every practice I have built for concluded afterwards that it should have done it sooner.
Analytics that has never once been looked at
Most sites carry a tracking tag and no measurement. Nobody defined what counts as a conversion, so the dashboard reports sessions and bounce rate — numbers that move up and down and change no decision anybody makes.
Useful measurement is narrow: form submissions, phone taps, WhatsApp clicks, and which pages preceded them. Four numbers checked monthly beat forty never opened, and knowing which Uyo search terms actually produce enquiries is what turns the site from a cost into something you can steer.
Hiring a developer who is not in Uyo
Working across a border adds one genuine obligation most suppliers skip: your customers' personal data ends up being processed in a country their privacy notice probably does not mention. Under Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 that is your liability, not mine. It is handled here before you ask — the mechanism is published, pre-signed and linked from every page on this site.
What I build for Uyo businesses
Fixed-scope, fixed-price, quoted in NGN. The full list is on the services page.
What I am not claiming about Uyo
A location page is the easiest place on a website to imply something untrue, so here is the other side of it plainly:
- I have no office, postal address or phone number in Uyo
- I cannot meet you in person, and if that is a requirement you should hire locally
- I am not claiming existing clients in Uyo specifically — my live work is listed on the work page and you can check it
- Nothing on this page is a guarantee of search rankings, which no developer can honestly offer
Uyo web development — common questions
- Do you actually work with businesses in Uyo?
- Yes, remotely. I work with Nigerian clients from Islamabad, quoting in NGN and invoicing in NGN. I have no office, address or phone number in Uyo and will not pretend otherwise. If your project needs someone physically present, hire locally — I will say so in the first reply rather than after a deposit.
- How much does a website cost in Uyo?
- A business website starts from ₦120,000 and goes live in about three days. An e-commerce build starts from ₦230,000 in around seven days, and a custom application from ₦310,000 in ten. Those are starting figures — the exact number is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, and it does not move after that.
- What currency will I be invoiced in?
- NGN. Quotes, milestones and the final invoice are all written in NGN so you are never comparing a converted figure against a local supplier's. Regarding tax: VAT at 7.5%.
- Who owns the website when it is finished?
- You do, completely. The domain is registered in your name, hosting sits in your account, the code lives in a repository you control, and any payment provider account is opened in your business name. Credentials are handed to you as they are created rather than at the end, so you are never locked out of your own site.
- What happens if I am not happy with the result?
- Work is delivered in milestones against a written scope, and you review each one on a staging URL before it is paid for. If the delivered milestone does not match the scope, it gets corrected before anything moves forward. That structure exists so disagreement is resolved at the stage it happens rather than at the end when it is expensive.
- Do you build on WordPress or something custom?
- Whichever the project justifies. WordPress when you need to edit content constantly and want a familiar admin. A static build when speed and security matter more than a plugin ecosystem. Custom PHP and MySQL when the logic is genuinely yours. The choice is explained in the quote with its trade-offs, not presented as a foregone conclusion.
- Can you migrate my Uyo site without losing rankings?
- Yes, and the redirect map is the whole job. Every existing URL is mapped to its new equivalent with a 301 before launch, and anything with no equivalent goes to the closest relevant page rather than the homepage. Sites lose rankings in migration because that mapping was skipped, not because migration is inherently risky.
