Web developer in Surabaya

Websites, online stores and technical SEO for Surabaya businesses — built remotely from Islamabad, quoted in IDR, scoped in writing before anything starts.

A working site for a Surabaya business is a smaller and more boring thing than most agencies will sell you. Fast pages, honest copy, a form that works on a phone, and structured data so search engines can read what you do. There is no fifth thing. The budget saved by not buying the fifth thing is better spent on photography.

What working with a Indonesian client actually changes

These are the terms that differ by country rather than by town. They apply to every business in Indonesia, Surabaya included, and they are the substance of what this page is claiming.

Quoted and invoiced in IDR — never a converted figure presented at the end
Tax position VAT at 11%
Your customers' data sits under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 27 of 2022
Lawful transfer mechanism a DPA meeting the PDP Law adequacy or safeguards route
Checkout can realistically use Midtrans, Xendit, QRIS, GoPay, and OVO

One thing worth knowing about building for Indonesia

QRIS unifies every Indonesian wallet behind one QR standard, so supporting it once covers GoPay, OVO, DANA and the rest. Integrating wallets individually is work that QRIS already did for you.

How a Surabaya build is scoped before anything is written

Scope is fixed in writing before development starts, and the number in that document is the number on the invoice. For Surabaya projects that document lists every page, every form, every integration and every third-party account the site will touch — priced in IDR, not converted at the end from something else.

The reason this matters more than it sounds: almost every dispute in web development is a scope dispute wearing a different hat. "Can you just add" is how a three-day build becomes a three-week one. Fixing scope up front does not stop you changing your mind; it makes the cost of changing your mind visible before you commit to it, which is the only honest way to run a fixed price.

Trades and field services in Surabaya

Builders, electricians, plumbers, roofers and installers share one problem: the customer is deciding on their phone, often standing in the room with the problem, and they will call the first firm that looks like it will pick up. Three things decide it — the phone number tappable in the header, a coverage list naming their town, and photographs of your own finished work rather than stock.

The thing trades sites most often get wrong is the quote form. Asking for a full address, a project budget and a preferred start date before anything else is a form built for your admin convenience, not for the customer. Two fields and a photo upload will produce more enquiries than eight fields ever will, and the rest can be collected on the call you just earned.

Structured data that is missing, wrong, or quietly lying

Schema markup is how a search engine reads what a page means rather than only what it says. Missing it costs you rich results. Getting it wrong is worse: marking up review stars you do not have, or a LocalBusiness at an address that is not yours, risks a manual action rather than a ranking.

Every page I build carries schema matching what is actually on it and nothing beyond that. The restraint is deliberate — this page uses Service and areaServed rather than LocalBusiness, precisely because there is no physical presence in Surabaya to assert.

Hiring a developer who is not in Surabaya

What makes remote work fail is almost never the distance. It is the absence of a written record — decisions made on calls, nothing agreed in text, two people remembering different things six weeks later. Every Surabaya project runs with the scope, the change log and the decisions in writing, which is dull and is the entire reason the fixed price holds.

What I build for Surabaya businesses

Fixed-scope, fixed-price, quoted in IDR. The full list is on the services page.

E-commerce website development I build online stores end to end — catalogue, cart, Stripe checkout, order emails and the technical SEO that gets them found. Six of the fifteen sites I have shipped are e-commerce builds, and every one of them takes real payments. From $150 · 7 days Technical SEO audits and implementation Most SEO audits hand you a 60-page document and an invoice. I am a developer first, so I find the problems and then fix them in the codebase — crawlability, indexation, schema, Core Web Vitals, and whether AI answer engines can read your site at all. From $80 · 3 days Business website development Most small business websites fail at one job: turning a stranger who searched for your service into a phone call. I build the version that does — three days, mobile-first, live on your own hosting, with the enquiry form tested before anybody sees it. From $80 · 3 days Custom website development A template is the right answer more often than developers like to admit. This page is about the times it is not — when the thing your business does has a shape no theme author anticipated, and forcing it into one costs more in permanent workarounds than building it properly would have cost once. From $200 · 10 days Web application development A website presents information. An application does work — it holds state, enforces rules, and produces something at the end. Most businesses that need the second one are running it on a spreadsheet nobody is allowed to sort, and paying for that in errors rather than in software. From $200 · 10 days

What I am not claiming about Surabaya

A location page is the easiest place on a website to imply something untrue, so here is the other side of it plainly:

Surabaya web development — common questions

How do you handle our customers' data under Personal Data Protection Law No. 27 of 2022?
Your customer data is governed by the Personal Data Protection Law No. 27 of 2022, and sending it to a developer in Pakistan is a restricted transfer. That is resolved by a DPA meeting the PDP Law adequacy or safeguards route, published on this site and pre-signed before you send an enquiry — not drafted after you ask about it.
What payment methods can my Surabaya checkout accept?
For Indonesia: Midtrans, Xendit, QRIS, GoPay, and OVO. The right combination depends on your average basket and your customers, and picking wrong is expensive — the payment method a buyer expects but cannot find is one of the most common reasons a checkout is abandoned at the final step.
How long does a Surabaya project actually take?
Three days for a business site, seven for a store, ten for a custom application. That holds because the process is fixed rather than improvised and because your content exists on day one. What stretches a build is almost never the code — it is waiting for copy, logos and photographs, so those are requested before the clock starts.
What hours will you be available to us in Surabaya?
My working day lands at 11:00–20:00 in your time, which is roughly 7 hours inside a normal Surabaya working day. In practice you can raise something in the morning and have it answered the same morning, and a scheduled call is easy to place at a civilised hour for both of us.
Do you actually work with businesses in Surabaya?
Yes, remotely. I work with Indonesian clients from Islamabad, quoting in IDR and invoicing in IDR. I have no office, address or phone number in Surabaya and will not pretend otherwise. If your project needs someone physically present, hire locally — I will say so in the first reply rather than after a deposit.
How much does a website cost in Surabaya?
A business website starts from Rp1,260,000 and goes live in about three days. An e-commerce build starts from Rp2,370,000 in around seven days, and a custom application from Rp3,160,000 in ten. Those are starting figures — the exact number is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, and it does not move after that.
What currency will I be invoiced in?
IDR. Quotes, milestones and the final invoice are all written in IDR so you are never comparing a converted figure against a local supplier's. Regarding tax: VAT at 11%.
